Annual General Meeting of The Global Sourcing Council
On the evening of Thursday, 17 November 2011, the South African Consulate General in New York was hosted the Annual General Meeting of the Global Sourcing Council. The event attracted over 50 representatives from companies working in the international sourcing industry.
The audience was welcomed by South African Consul General George Monyemangene, and also heard from the Chairman of the Global Sourcing Council Mr David Kinnear while the key note address was provided by Elliot Clark the CEO of SharedXpertise, who spoke of How Global Trends and Corporate Responsibility Impacts on Internal and Outsourced Workforces.
The Global Sourcing Council is a non-profit organization with an educational mission to promote an exchange of ideas and information among businesses, trade organizations, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and academia; to discuss and define sustainable and responsible practices in global sourcing and supply chain management; and to encourage progressive economic growth leading to increased trade, investment and social good, all with an aim to increase knowledge, deepen trade relations and broaden commercial and cultural ties among nations. Membership is open to enterprise customers, service providers, business management consultants, legal advisers, academics and others. The organization sponsors webinars, events and a newsletter on emerging issues.
