2015: VOLUNTEERING IN MANHATTAN

Central Park Conservancy's Pitch In, Pick Up

20 July 2015

Looking for ways to lend a hand on Nelson Mandela International Day?

With 843 acres and 40 million visitors, there's a lot that goes into maintaining New York City's "backyard."  Every stray napkin and forgotten water bottle adds up.  Central Park Conservancy needs your help, whether you have an hour or an afternoon, to pitch in and pick up.  Spend meaningful time lending a hand in your community by helping Central Park Conservancy's staff in keeping the Park clean and green. For information please go to http://www.centralparknyc.org/…/volun…/pitch-in-pick-up.html

Consul General Mathula Nkosi (with volunteers from the South African Consulate General, SA Tourism and the Permanent Mission of South Africa to the United Nations) heeded the call to "Take Action, Inpire Change!" by helping clean up the North Meadow Recreation Center in Central Park.

Staff at the South African Consulate General partnered with Central Park Conservancy and volunteered 67 minutes of their time to help clean up the Belvedere Castle in Central Park.
